The suggestion is to remove the second Id element and add a version (data type INT.NONNEG). Not suggesting that we need a new data type defined. |

That's been evaluated in the past. It wouldn't be compatible with HL7 v3 data types and the proposal to change the data types was not accepted by HL7 international

Another discussion over in Medication Management that may be of interest to this group - https://ic.infoway-inforoute.ca/en/forum/214-medication-management/860-cerx4-4-1-issues-with-prescription-version Essentially, issues are being raised with the II.BUS_AND_VER data type and there is a suggestion that having an explicit (and human readable) version attribute is a better approach. |
