TOPIC: Anonymization of research data

Anonymization of research data 7 years 2 months ago #3221

Hello,
As you know, we have assembled a significant amount of data on our DI-r's that we could use for research purposes. With the increasing development of Artificial Intelligence applications, the need for large volumes is becoming more pressing.
A hurdle we need to overcome is complying with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
I would like to suggest that we focus on developing a standard-based recognized de-identification/anonymization process for medical images and reports, which will get approved by instances such as CIHI ‎and that we can present in our Research Ethic Board requests as the standard of practice.
Happy to discuss at our next face-to-face meeting.
All the best,
David Koff
