Ontario proposed changes are logged in the Infoway Request Management System (InfoRMS). I've attached the Ontario RFC with the reference numbers if any one would like to continue tracking the RFCs.
Ontario proposed changes for pan-Canadian CDA Header with InfoRMS referenced: https://ic.infoway-inforoute.ca/en/resources/docs/hl7/rfcs/on/923-ontario-proposed-changes-for-pan-canadian-cda-header-with-informs-referenced. Best regards, Wendy Huang |

As we at eHealth Ontario had proposed a number of changes to the pan-Canadian CDA Header, we would like community members to discuss and agree on the principles behind these changes.
As mentioned by Wendy, one of our proposed changes is to convert the following data types from BASIC to FULL: • Full Address (AD.FULL) instead of Basic Address (AD.BASIC) • Full Person Name (PN.FULL) instead of Basic Person Name (PN.BASIC) • Phone, E-mail or URI (TEL.ALL) instead of just Phone number (TEL.PHONE) The rationale behind this is to meet business requirements for Ontario stake holders some of our projects need the data type from BASIC to FULL. We suggest on relaxing at pCS level to allow jurisdictions flexibility in deciding whether to use a full or basic flavour. Kind Regards, Smita |

One of the changes proposed by Ontario is to change the following Data Types referenced in the pan-Canadian CDA Header:
For more details, please refer to the complete data type specification found here: https://infocentral.infoway-inforoute.ca/2_Standards/1_pan-Canadian_Standards/Messaging/s_Common_Services_(HL7_v3)/Data_Types_-_Current_Releases. Especially those who have implemented or are planning to implement CDA-based clinical solutions in Canada, you are strongly encouraged to provide your comments and feedback. Looking forward to the discussion. Best regards, Wendy |
