I would like to join Finnie in welcoming folks to the Coordination of Care community!

To introduce myself ... I have assisted Finnie as co-chair to SCWG2 for just over a year and am happy to be continuing this involvement with the new Community. I have over 20 years experience in architecting, designing and implementing solutions for clinical interoperability for Canadian jurisdictions. I hold a PhD in Health Information Technology and expert systems/analytics and have provided academic and industry instruction and provided advisory consulting in the implementation of clinical standards (HL7, CDA). I am currently Director, Consulting at CGI working primarily in Western Canada.

I look forward to working with community members in continuing the discussions from SCWG2 as well as assisting in facilitating collaboration across and between jurisdictions related to clinical interoperability and standards development and implementation.

A little about myself...My name is Finnie Flores and I am one of the leaders of this community along with Diane Gutiw. Throughout my career, I have held various roles in health informatics in various sectors of health care. I am currently Program Lead in Architecture and Standards at Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI). Most recently, I was the Chair of Infoway Standards Collaborative Working Group (SCWG) 2. I have an appreciation of the value of health data and information in both clinical/point of service and health system uses.

We’re looking forward to facilitating the conversation and collaborating with our colleagues across Canada to move towards our common goal of enhancing the delivery of care and improving the health system through digital health.
