September Meeting: Cross-Canada Updates and Roundtable (BC CDX, SK CHIP, ISO Std Development) 8 years 8 months ago #1601

Hello everyone,

Looking forward to having everyone on the call tomorrow. Though sent out to the whole community, I have noted at least one occurrence where the WebEx invite didn't get to an intended recipient. As such, if you did not receive it, do use the links below to get it into your calendar, or join the meeting tomorrow at 1pm ET.

As for the roundtable, this is what I had in mind for providing your thoughts tomorrow. It would be great to have your input:

Introduce yourself (your team/organization/current project)

Let us know what you would like to see discussed in the Coordination of Care Community
  • Topics of interest
  • Types of projects
  • Opportunities for collaboration

  • I will let you know during the webinar how to join the queue to provide an update.

Here are the webinar links for those that may not have received them:

September Meeting: Cross-Canada Updates and Roundtable (BC CDX, SK CHIP, ISO Std Development) 8 years 8 months ago #1586

    Hello everyone,

Most of you should have received your invites to our September meeting (scheduled for next Tuesday September 27th). Thanks to those who have RSVP'd already. All the information for the updates and the meeting is available on our Event Notice. If anything changes, updates will be provided there. To make things easy, I have also included all the details here in this post (including the appointment links at the bottom should you have not received the invite directly). Also, do note that the meeting will be at 1PM ET/ 10AM PT - we will likely stick with this time going forward to accommodate our colleagues on the West Coast.

Here's the synopsis of the meeting and our featured updates:

    Featured Updates:

Clinical Document eXchange in British Columbia
Presenter: Cindie Robertson, Coordinator - Health Information Exchange/Clinical Document eXchange, Interior Health Authority
Cindie Robertson will be updating us on progress made with Clinical Document eXchange (CDX), an HIE service developed in Interior Health. This system allows sending of multiple message types (e.g. HL7 v2, HL7 CDA). It also facilitates different distribution models, including EMR to EMR to support referrals and consults, as well as HCIS (Meditech & Cerner) outbound to EMRs. This distribution service is used in the Interior and Northern Regional Health Authorities in BC.

Pilot Update: Saskatchewan’s Citizen Health Information Portal
Presenter: Wayne Heth, Senior Consultant, Heth Consulting and eHealth Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan launched a pilot of their Citizen Health Information Portal in January 2016, and have recruited over a thousand users since its inception. In his presentation, Wayne Heth will provide an overview of some of the features that these users have had access to and some initial findings from the pilot.

ISO Use Case Development for Patient Summary Standards
Presenters: Don Newsham, Chief Executive, 4C Consulting & Elizabeth Keller, VP Product Strategy & Delivery, OntarioMD
Don Newsham and Elizabeth Keller, both engaged as international standards leaders, will be providing us with an introduction to the work being undertaken by the Joint Initiative Council regarding the development of a new ISO use case standard for patient summary. This innovative standards set effort, subject of an upcoming October 26th webinar, aims to enable the full interoperable exchange of health data that would in turn facilitate effective patient care coordination.

    Roundtable
As part of the meeting, we plan to have a roundtable so as to hear about what you and your teams are working on and what you would like our community to collaborate on. Details about how we will proceed with the roundtable will be provided prior to the meeting.
