"You can just post comments directly on the google doc, or send a summary as an attachment to us...whichever is easier. There's no specific format required."

The LOINC team is excited to share with you the new RadLex-LOINC Radiology Playbook User Guide. This User Guide is a product of our collaboration with the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) to unify the LOINC and RadLex Playbook radiology content.

This User Guide describes in detail the attributes of the new Unified Model that is guiding the naming conventions of our joint work going forward. These new naming conventions were applied to the Computed Tomography terms in LOINC already, and will used as we progress through the other modalities too.

Now, we need your feedback.

There is one area in particular I'd like to draw your attention to:

Anatomic Location: Body Region Imaged

We have had a fair bit of discussion about how we should define and use this attribute (if at all). Some of the issues we have been discussing are whether this attribute should represent the area imaged during the procedure ("top to bottom" so to speak), or whether it should be thought of more generally as a high level classification element. (E.g. there should only be a short list of these broad body areas (head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, etc).

Comments and discussion on this point are welcome.
